Angelina Jolie recently announced she has filed papers to adopt yet another exotic overseas orphan. Faced with the burden of carrying so many children while traveling the world for humanitarian reasons, Jolie commissioned a designer to create a stylish transport to fit her unique needs. The Angelina Jolie Hands-Free Multiple Baby Carrier is a sleek device that carries up to four children and features diaper storage, a bottle and sippy cup holder, an insulated snack compartment, and retractable toys. Best of all, the carrier allows Angelina to keep her hands free to pick up other orphans that might catch her eye. Available by special order only, but hurry, there's a growing wait list. Madonna has already placed her order and other celebrities are likely to follow. Medium: ink on paper, digital color.
Angelina Jolie is hot even when she's pregnant with twins.

yawn, why not make fun of your own sad life, instead of someone you know nothing about?

It seems everytime I see Angelina these days she is trying to carry her entire litter on her own like a poor mother cat. It's a pity that this device isn't real I think she really needs it. Especially if she is going to keep adding more and more of them. :)

I bet it she were adopting kids that looked like actors from "Children of the corn" people would have nothing to say.
The dictionary's definition of exotic is not non white = exotic

"There are NO kids in America who are going through famines. There are no villages of famine. There are no kids who are not in school in America - if they are not - teir parents will be arrested. Everyone in America has access to education. Everyone has access to clean drinking water. You don't have to travel for several miles to find a water well. NOWHERE in America will this happen."
Lea you are sadly mistaken. Ever been in the Applachians? On an Indian Reservation, hell even in the South Bronx, NY. There are plenty of American born kids living in absolutely abhorent conditions, kids that go to bed hungry, no indoor plumbing or electricity, teeth rotting out of their heads because the family has no dental insurance, can't go to school because family has no car and school buses won't come to their areas etc.
But the issue is not which child in which country has it worse. The issue is the motivation behind Angelina collecting children at such a rapid clip(and it is the same with Mia Farrow, Josephine Baker etc.). I personally know a woman who had two biological children under 3 and had recently lost both parents. She wanted to adopt and was turned down by a very well-known U.S. adoption agency because they stated that adoption was not to be used to replace or fill in vacancies in a family. They advised her to wait at least a year until she had dealt with her loss and her youngest(6 months old at the time) was older. With baby Shiloh a mere 10 months old the Jolie-Pitt family is still influx. Introducing another child into the mix and shuffling the birth order will surely create issues. Not to mention that the new child speaks minimal English and she has the gall to change his name at the age of 3! Again what is her motivation? It is never as simple and pure as "i just want to help thse poor babies."
I think the reality is that Angelina, Madonna and the like would never pass the screenings and evaluations of a western adoption agency plus their history and lifestyles are too well known. Unfortunately they are able to wow foreign orphanages with big donations and get their pick of the litter so to speak.

They should be referred to as the angelina jolie and bradd pitt new generation collection. "The new generation collection has been spotted in new orleans eating at the local bistros." Now that sounds like it could really stick..

I am so jealous of Angelina Jolie, dear Lord! I am sooo jealous! Why must this Cinderella myth continue sans moi? Dear God, why could I not be born with a luscious dick sucker and a desire to turn my body into a zombie? Why must I be damned to only collecting bunnies dear Jesus? Why could I not be extremely rich so I could go around the world and collect third world children and even try to color coordinate Dear God! I could also have some help by coveting my neighbor's husband and adulterate my way to a loving family in ever sense of the word? Why was I not blessed this way Dear Lord? Please forgive me Dear God. Why can't I get the media to take pictures of my color coordinated child collection so the common people with look upon me as a saint sweet Jesus? And most of all God, most of all, why can't people who I could give two fucks about, people who are not worthy to dig the shit out of my ass (like Marie), why can I not have people like this coming to my defense and getting incredibly angry when the "other scum" make fun of my bizarre and unbelievable behavior? ^ You spread really ugly vibes. She can do whatever she wants without your approval. Get a clue. Or just stay angry and jealous, whatever.
I love the the Pitt-Jolie's! 14 is decidedly biased against them and this woman in particular. I think it's really petty, but it's her site. All that matters in the end is a loving family of five has grown to 6. I see absolutely nothing wrong with that.

I can't help it goddamn it!!!!!! Angelina was a stay at home mom for 2 days!!!!!!! Look what she is doing now!
Posted by: Demon Kitty | March 20, 2007 at 12:47 PM
I don't understand why some people get hassaled over what Angelina does. Hey, it's none of my business and it doesn't touch my pocketbook. The media shouldn't even make this news.
Posted by: Chickie | March 20, 2007 at 04:03 AM
Oh yes, you see how long Angie stayed at home for her newborn... a few months perhaps. She's all lies, always has been, and we all just roll our eyes and look the other way.
Posted by: Cindy2 | March 19, 2007 at 05:46 PM
A few days ago Angelina publicly claimed that she's planning on being a "stay-at-home-Mom" for an indefinite time period to ensure that the newest adoptee adjusts to his new life.
Posted by: Jenn F. | March 19, 2007 at 02:57 PM
I would really love to see if Angelina actually raises those kids by herself, or even with her boyfriend Brad. He, let's face it anyone can take care of 4 or 5 kids when you have a couple of nannies, assistants, etc. Obviously it would be a little different if she had to change the diapers herself . . .
Posted by: Monkey | March 19, 2007 at 01:17 PM
She should adopt Michael Jackson. Now there's somebody in need of a stable caring environment. Although she should keep an eye on him around the kids...
Her adoption of Brad Pitt has worked well.
He has gone from someone who appeared to be severely developmentally challenged, to almost sentient, in no time at all. Watching an interview with him recently, I was impressed by his sudden ability to almost make some small degree of sense. This is obviously the influence of Angelina at work. He was speaking in coherent sentences, using (nearly) rational arguments, similes, metaphors and everything.
Keep up the good work Angelina!

allison - "nanny pack" - Good one! That connotes something like a cross between an extended fanny pack - only to carry multiple children and sundry items in and for some reason, a six pack.
MollieBee - Thanks- You rock and your comment on mine made my evening/was a real kick in the pants!
This one makes me crack up every time I see it or think about it 14 : )
Posted by: pun_inpendid | March 15, 2007 at 07:32 PM
HILARIOUS! but i think you should have mentioned that this harness thing (nanny pack?) is only used inbetween public walks on the nannies' day off.

Oh Kitty, I didn't mean YOU. Besides, it wasn't shoving chips in your gaping cakehole, it was punching chips in your gaping cakehole. And I meant specifically for those criticizing someone who's making a positive difference in the world with humanitarian work, not just any celeb. But never mind. I'm off my rant.
I do see your point though, how it seems a bit much all so quickly. I just have a hard time judging when she hasn't really done anything wrong yet. (and I hate saying "yet"). And there are a lot of other people out there who have even bigger families than that... but if someone were to birth six kids one after another, I don't think many people would call them compulsive... (maybe just in need of some birth control?) But if said person wanted six kids, they're entitled to have them, right? (assuming they're decent parents and there's no obvious reason not to). I just have a hard time pointing a finger at someone whose humanitarian efforts are applaudable and who's chosen to grow a large family in a non-conventional way. If they handle it well, all the power to them.

14, your work is SPOT ON!
Let us not forget ...... if Angelina were collecting animals this way, she'd be on the evening news tagged as a "crazy cat lady".
Food for thought..................

She's going through a phase and she is out of control!
Her behavior comes across as obsessive compulsive. I agree with American Minded -- some serious crash and burn is coming up. Now excuse me while I go shove some "chips in my gaping cakehole", because what else could I possibly be doing if I make fun of a celebrity and fail to take them seriously?

Hey folks, just wanted to say that not everybody in America (or Canada, for that matter) has access to clean drinking water. Exposure to lead poisoning and rotting pipes makes the drinking water unsafe in thousands of households in many cities on this continent. Not everyone buys bottled water either. Some can't even afford it, especially those under the $10,000 annual bracket. And let's not forget, there are plenty of 3rd world status reserves, where there are boil water advisories. Sometimes the water is so bad that it causes skin infections that turn into blood poisoning and so on... There are children in both countries who do not have access to education because of poverty. How many children are living on the streets at this very moment, in cities across North America? What about the drug war, where people and children face shootings and other heinous crimes on a daily basis? Whether we like it or not, 3rd world living conditions do exist here. Just because you can drink the water from your tap doesn't mean the guy living in a building (that should have been condemned and torn down) a few streets over can.
It isn't about which country has it worse. It's about basic human rights and there are people in every country around the world that are denied them.

This illustration is funny as well as the other video link about womb raider. ^_@
I always continue to find it amusing that some folks are so upset about some negative comments about celebrities. Someone mentioned Mia Farrow adopting, but I don’t read or hear that she letting the press know about it. It seems every time this woman gets herself into hot water; i.e. Vogue article a couple months back, she has to remind everyone what a good person she is by either adopting or giving to some orphanage.
The point being… If you can give, then give. If you can help others, then help. …and like other rich & famous people such as Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, Elizabeth Taylor and Nicholas D. Kristof who also give their time & money to important causes; they just do it. Again, do it because it’s the right thing, not to redeem a negative image.

I laughed at the cartoon, as I think it is very well done. I have to admit that I like AJ a lot. I think she's very charismatic and a good actress, the Brad/Jen thing aside. Again - we don't know all the details, so how can we judge? And I thought she played Lara Croft EXACTLY as the character is depicted in the computer game, which is what made the first movie so good.
But I do find it a little O.T.T. that she is again adopting another child. I commend her for courage and in trying to do the right thing, but I do question what's going to happen when she has to decide between these children or the next fantastic movie role she's offered? Sure, there are nannies, but if the kids are getting used to her being their Mom, it's important that she, herself, spend most of her time with them. She keeps putting more and more on her plate. Not only does she have to split her time with all of her kids, but she has to divide that time between Brad, new movies, etc., etc. I think she is taking on too much and will eventually suffer the consequences with a breakdown. The fact that she's so thin should be a red flag here!
Posted by: AmericanMinded | March 13, 2007 at 11:12 AM
Hey Shay,
if those "underage, uneducated american moms" had decent access to cheap, effective birth control and sex education based on facts, not religion, maybe there wouldn't be a need for "inexpensive, well designed, compact garbage disposals that somehow can detect and dispose of pre-borns".
Pre borns?! Your politics are showing, dear.

The poster is funny!!!!
However if you have been reading the news the new boy is over 3 years old and I am not sure she would be able to carry him on her leg.
I think it is great that she adopts. I am adopted and I had a good life. I know these kids are better off with her then an a orphanage. If she can provide a good life for twenty kids she should adopt and have as many as she can handle.

Christina,
Do get over the color issue. I choose to rely on published research christina because those findings often times can be generalized to a larger number of individuals across ethnic, religous, and cultural backgrounds etc...that is given the research population is large and reflective of diversified backgrounds without too many extrinsic factors to affect the outcome. So anyhow, since you brought up research I make the observation you know this because to rely on someone's singular personal experience to make such a generalized comment would be uncivilized. But I'm sure you know that too. The comment I made was meant as light humor, as are most of the comments I have made in the past. I realize you are not aware of my brand of sarcarsm. The issue isn't the color of the child; this issue is the quality of parenting skills. I question the wisdom behind adopting so many children so quickly. I believe these countries need to employ some common sense and begin to question how many children two people can effectively raise as opposed to relying so heavily on yearly salary as if that is some leading indication of the parents' abilities to rear their young. I still think cinnamon might be too dark Kai, not to say its not a beautiful color. You do need to remember that how the sun reflects off the spiced tones makes a difference when deciding what time of day to arrange a playdate. That was a joke.

I am fascinated by people who think the orphan problem in Darfur is the same as the orphan problem in the US.
Clearly you have not traveled outside of the US. We are so spoiled here in America.
I don't care how bad we have it here, it is NEVER as bad as elsewhere.
There are NO kids in America who are going through famines. There are no villages of famine. There are no kids who are not in school in America - if they are not - teir parents will be arrested. Everyone in America has access to education. Everyone has access to clean drinking water. You don't have to travel for several miles to find a water well. NOWHERE in America will this happen.
That is why overseas is a state of emergency. You have kids in Cambodia and in the Sudan drinking sewer water out of despeartion.
THAT is why people adopt overseas before here. Besides, American kids want Nintendos and Nike sneakers. Kids overseas want a piece of bread.
Stop being spoiled Americans and realize how lucky we ALL are here!

A couple of observations:
1) I don't think all this flap would be flapping if Angelina had chosen to bear X number of children from her own body rather than adopt them. Yet somehow it's indicative of a pathological mindset that she wants to adopt from around the world.
2) Can't add a word to the observations others have made about international adoptions vs. domestic. Even if the potential adoptive parents WANT to adopt outside of their race, they're often kept from doing so because it's not viewed as being in the child's best interests.
3) So far Angelina seems to be a competent parent. As someone else said, the worst thing the tabloids can find to say about her is that she's adopting again. Not that any of these children are being mistreated or "collected."
4) 14's illo is very funny in the context of the tabloid headlines, which is exactly how I think it's meant.
I guess that was more than a couple...

Fantastic! There's a Nagelesque quality about it. It's very clever 14. This is how Angelina keeps in shape isn't it?
Posted by: Sage | March 12, 2007 at 01:30 PM
Actually, my name is derived from a lyric from one of my favorite songs in the world :) And believe me, the humor of 14's art is not lost on me, Im not a drone - I think the Angelina picture is defintely amusing and I appreciate it for what it is -Satiric Art.
I wasnt judging ANYONE in my previous post, I was simply stating that I think its disgusting that people tear Angelina and Brad down for adopting from poor countries on the grounds that they SHOULD be adopting from their own country.
It seems these days that anyone who has watched "Hotel Rwanda" feels entitled to some "holier than thou" opinion about Brangelina.
Children in Third World Countries have less of a chance of surviving unless they are adopted than North American children - does that make them MORE worthy of adoption? Of course not, every child in this world deserves to have a mother, father, swing set in the back yard and golden retriever
HOWEVER if Brad and Angelina have taken it upon themselves to adopt from poorer countries they shouldnt be stoned from ignorant Westeners complaining about the orphans of America, if youre so damned concerned why don't you go out and adopt them yourself.
You know, there's a reason why you see South African orphans on "Save The Children" commercials and not Canadian or American kids. Thats all Im saying....

Still think this work of 14's rocks and stand by my comments as well as freedom of speech. It does seem a little like she is collecting orphans, but also like she is doing those she does 'collect' : ) a world of good. Found an article on PEOPLE.com about Angelina Jolie and her efforts with the UN that I think speaks to many of the comments here and also speaks very highly of her for anyone who is interested: Angelina 'Transformed' by Work with Refugees http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20014723,00.html

Hmmm... A celeb that has chosen a career that requires hundreds of hours of mental and physical exhaustion, but still adopts... and yet instead of appreciation you draw illustrations that make fun... Maybe we should draw pictures of inexpensive, well designed, compact garbage disposals that somehow can detect and dispose of pre-borns, or i'm sorry, fetuses for the underage, uneducated american mom.

MY FELLOW READERS, PLEASE TAKE NOTE! I am REALLY disappointed that some people here are thinking that I said something negative in my comments when I said nothing of the sort. The person who commented under my comment is the one who said something negative - and I would like to make that clear. All I said earlier was:
"Ooh, I like this one, 14! That is a very creative, functional orphan carrier!"
Please look carefully at who said what before you say you agree or disagree with them! I enjoy coming here to this site to view 14's amazing illustrations, but for people to bash me unnecessarily is uncalled for. Seriously. This site should be fun. Let's let go of all that animosity.

yeahhhhh Undec. Perf. , very well put.
All the comments are so much fun to read.
And I Love how Maddox looks like a teenager and all the kids have so much instantly recogizable character. Except for Angelina. She just looks like Lara Croft.
I kind of think she's o.t.t. but, motherhood can make you step up to the plate. Why not her? She also had a wonderful, loving mother,as an example, who let her live out all her inner demons and act out (drinking b.Bob's thornton's blood, tatoos, etc), so she is just about on time for growing up, modern-time style. Back in the day, people had to grow up earlier. For survival. Now adolescence extends into the 30's, 40's, or more. I think she has a chance to be a wonderful, exemplary parent. Not that she dosent bug me,(husband snatcher) but then, WHO DOEs'T??!! excpet you all..I mean..Love you !!

Too funny!
I can't help but wonder what people would say about her if she hadn't pursued Brad. Perhaps we'd be more likely to see her actions as a little more pure & honest?
Personally, I think she may be trying to make up for a messed up life (cutting her Father out of her life, hooking up w/a married man, cutting herself, etc).
No matter her reasons, she is bringing attention where it is needed, helping more than most, and making a difference.

I love this piece. VERY funny. And DP's comment about the snap-ring for the pull-toy husband was the perfect added detail.
I can never quite decide how I feel about Angelina Jolie. On one hand, she's pulled some pretty stupid stunts in the past with the viles of blood, sharing her sex life with ex-husband Thornton a bit too much with the public, claiming to be "exactly" like the character Lara Croft, and generally being a bit of a smarmy testicle.
On the other hand, she's undeniably beautiful, appears to be quite intelligent, is pretty damn cool, and is spending her time trying to make a significant difference in the world with the U.N., using her fame to draw attention to important issues.
I do, however, think that whatever she chooses to do with her personal life is her business. Seeing as she hasn't dropped a baby or driven around with it on her lap, she's entitled to adopt as many damn kids as she pleases. After all, she can certainly afford an army of nannies if need be. Even so, you don't often see her without at least some of the kids, like any other parent.
I think it's a bit presumptive of Crazyhouse Mom, Ophelia, and others to assume they know the motivation behind A.J.'s multiple adoptions and say she should "grow up" when they have no information about her personal life aside from gossip tabloids. I also wonder who made any of these people the authority on Jolie to know with certainty that this is a "phase" that she is going through. Yes she has gone through phases in the past, as many people do when they're in their teens and twenties... but it's a bit ignorant to try to bottle her into that mindset now and decide there's no way she could have grown past it over the years.
Although I can't call myself a huge fan of Jolie, I must admit I respect her more than a lot of celebs... she's spending more time trying to make a difference in third world countries than 90% of the rest put together. And I'm not talking about adopting kids, either. I'm talking about the humanitarian work she's done with the U.N.
As for the adoptions? Good for her. Those kids are going to have far better lives than they would have otherwise, and they need it a hell of a lot more than any kid in North America does... as explained very well by UndecidedPerfect. For those that criticize Jolie for it, what the hell are you doing aside from punching chips into your gaping cake-hole? She's one of the few celebs who deserves some level of admiration and respect. Fun as it may seem, not EVERYONE deserves to be dressed down. At least be selective in your choice.
