At least that's what the tabloids claim. It was reported that Star, aka "Bridezilla" and her husband Al Reynolds paid almost nothing for her extravagantly expensive sponsored wedding. Apparently, she promised sponsors a free plug on The View in exchange for things like $6,000 cakes and exotic honeymoons. I would have loved to have drawn her as Bridezilla, but I thought Ursula the Sea Witch was a more appropriate metaphor. She can use all those tentacles to grab all the free stuff she wants - even a husband!
I love the picture, 14! Nice job.
I have read all the comments, and I find it amazing the sheer volume of all the comments about "Ohhh, you're just jealous of her" and "You're all racists!!!!"
I used to like Star a lot, but then she just did this massive flip-flop of personality. I get why 14 did the picture, and I understand that it's based on gossip. But all these comment about jealousy and racism, I just don't get.
I know this may seem kind of far-fetched to some people, but it _is_ possible to dislike someone because of their personality. It's almost like political correctness has taken away people's senses of humor! Come on, just laugh, because it _is_ funny. I mean, if it was Paris Hilton or Britney Spears, you'd be rolling on the floor. Just because Star is black doesn't mean she's off-limits for being the butt of a joke every so often. And she's definitely done some things that make for good punch lines!
I actually am white by the way; but in case my being born that way offends you, feel free to imagine that I'm purple, maybe with bunny slippers on and a banana hat. :)

Wow,I just read through all the comments and I have to say one thing....NOBODY IS JEALOUS OF FAT-ASS, UGLY, GREEDY STAR JONES! Please, you CAN dislike someone without being "OMG JEALUSZ!!1!11". And it always makes me laugh that people think that everyone is jealous of some minor celeb just because they are a celeb. Not true, you couldn't PAY ME enough to be a celeb...sorry, I LIKE my privacy, and different people have different dreams, so please don't project YOUR wishes and failed dreams onto other people. And....the race card....I have one thing to say about THAT: GET THE HELL OVER IT! BLACK PEOPLE are keeping black people down, it isn't the "White Devil" any more...remember that WHITE PEOPLE don't get Affirmative Action, or the United Negro College Fund, or any of the TONS of organizations designed to help blacks get a better life, white people have to get by on their talent, merit, and intelligence (and even if we are the best qualified for something, it doesn't matter, because Affirmative Action has to fill their quota, which means whitey doesn't get a job!). So please, stop playing the race card already, it just makes you look even MORE incapable of succeeding, especially when the odds are stacked IN your favor...if you can't succeed with all the handouts you get, then well, you DESERVE the ridicule you get. And plenty of poor people of OTHER RACES manage to drag thmselves out of poverty....BOTH my parents did it, and it sure as HELL wasn't because they're white, it's because they're HARD WORKERS! So please quit whining about how whitey is keeping you down, because you know that you are keeping YOURSELVES down, and frankly, everyone from all the other (successful) races are getting tired of your lame ass excuses (and getting tired of giving you handouts because you're too incompetent to take care of yourselves).

You guys, quick being so mean to Star Jones! Don't be so jealous! I like what Flyboy148 said on November 1, 2005! We should be helping her try to unhinge herself from Al who we all know is gay! She could find a better husband, I'm sure. I think she was beautiful whether skinny or heavy.

Good Lord people, I am a 29 yr. old black woman who absolutely detest Star Jones, not out of jealousy it's out of disappointment. I'm disappointed that she had an opportunity and squandered it. Star Jones was not let go from The View because of her race or strong opinions. It was because of her greed. She pimped out the most important day of her life for free things and then shamelessly promoted the companies and their products without permission from ABC. When she was asked to stop she still tried to get it out there. Not to mention the fact that she was a raging hypocrite. Remember her hatred for dogs not dislike, outright hatred. I remember when Meredith bought a new house and asked the other ladies if she should move the dog buried in the back yard with them Star said leave it there because she hated dogs, she went on and on about it constantly. Now she has a dog and takes a family photo with it no less and totes it around like a baby. Star Jones did this to herself, no one did this to her. People love a humble celebrity, not a braggard and that's what she became. The general public does not revere a celeb that flaunts their wealth it turns them off as evidenced by everyones sheer hate for Paris Hilton and her ilk. I don't feel sorry for Ms. Jones had she stayed true to herself and not tried to become someone she is not she would still be sitting on that panel. Fellow black women please don't get being a strong black women confused with being a bitch. That is EXACTLY what got Star booted from that show. By the way ABC not renewing her contract was no surprise to her she had known since April. So anyone buying her woe is me act needs to get their head out of the clouds. I for one have again started watching The View again after not watching it since she got engaged and let me tell you Rosie is all I expected and more, this show needed her.

GOD CREATED ALL OF US. IT IS AN INSULT TO GOD TO TALK ABOUT SOMETHING OR SOMEONE THAT HE CREATED. I FEEL SORRY FOR EVERYONE THAT WROTE ALL THE HATEFUL THINGS ABOUT STAR JONES REYNOLDS. SHE IS ONE OF GOD'S CHILDREN AND TO HAVE SUPPOSE TO BE CHRISTIANS SAY SUCH EVIL HATEFUL THINGS ABOUT ANOTHER PERSON, REALLY SADDENS ME. I AM GOING TO PRAY FOR EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU THAT WROTE SUCH HATEFUL THINGS. YOU SAY SUCH HATEFUL THINGS ABOUT THIS BLACK WOMAN AS IF YOU KNEW HER PERSOANLLY AND THEN TURN AROUND AND GET AN ATTITUDE WHEN ANOTHER BLACK PERSON STATES THAT IT IS RACIAL. YOU SAY WE ALWAYS BRING RACE INTO A SITUATION, BUT THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT IT IS. WE DIDN'T BRING RACE INTO THE SITUATION, YOU BROUGHT RACE INTO AND WE ARE ONLY GIVING OUR OPINION OF THE SITUATION. TAKE TIME OUT OF YOUR BUSY DAY OF TALKING ABOUT THIS WOMAN AND GET ON YOU KNEES AND TRYING PUTTING THAT MUCH EFFORT INTO PRAISING GOD AND PRAYING.

OHHHHHHHHHH MY GOD!!!!! I DON'T THINK ANYONE COULD HAVE DEPICTED STAR JONES BETTER THAN YOU DID IN THAT PIC. THAT WAS SUPERB. SHE IS TOTALLY CONSUMED BY HERSELF AND HER GAY MAN. HOW COMES IT TOOK A MAN IN HER LIFE TO REALISE SHE NEEDED TO LOOSE WEIGHT. I USE TO HATE WATCHING THE VIEW BECAUSE OF HER BECAUSE SHE SOUNDED LIKE SHE WOULD PASS OUT ANY MINUTE. NOW SHE JUST LOOKS DEATHLY,TOO DRY AND GAUNT. STILL DOESN'T LOOK GOOD IN A BATHSUIT.

I find it very interesting that the most vocal Star proponents are not able to spell their messages correctly and/or are not able to use correct grammer. Their level of intelligence is not only reflected in defending such a loser but in the content of their message. Let's face it most people that are fired move on and make the best of the situation. Star Jones should do the same.

you people are so caught up in your childish little name calling and racial hatred (hell, you've even got a Nazi or two posting here) that you have neglected to see the REAL VICTIM here...
the octopus.
Octopi are beautiful and complex creatures and the way you've MALIGNED AND MISREPRESENTED this magestic underwater jewel is nothing short of unbridled cruelty. I plan on contacting PETA to alert them of your insensitive depiction. Not only that, I plan on alerting AL GORE. He will make a movie about you and how you are helping to destroy the Earth and all her creatures.
Do you think it's FUNNY to suggest that an endangered octopus might resemble a mildly talented, yet uninteresting TV personality??? Next time, THINK before you pick up your damn paintbrush. Think of the negative impact you are having on Earth's precious ocean life.
You humans, black, white, or GOD FORBID, German, will blow yourselves up. You are all nothing but zombies, insensitive and cruel to one another, too immature to practice compassion and tolerance for each other. If we all behaved more like an octopus, we just might have a chance.
SHAME ON ALL OF YOU!!! SAVE THE OCTOPUS!!!!!

Oh for God's sake, STFU with the damn race card already. You need to stop whining about how hard you have it, try being white. WE don't get the privilege of "Affirmative Action" in getting into colleges, government and other jobs, etc. WE cannot get on welfare or any other type of social programs, even if desperately needed (the government would let us STARVE, because there's NO good PR in helping poor whites). WE are not allowed to have ANY type of pride in our heritage or history because we are the "White Oppressor Devils" that enslaved and exploited everyone. WE cannot have any type of "white college fund" or white only sororities/fraternities, etc., because that is RACIST and non-inclusive, but every other ethnic group can. If WE make ANY type of comment that could be slightly construed (or even misunderstood) as a "racial" comment, we are vilified and called racist, bigoted, etc., but other groups can call whites whatever they please and that is OK. WE cannot help our own like the blacks, Hispanics, etc., do because that is RACIST. Hell, everything we do is racist, but we have all the power and privilege...YEAH RIGHT!!!! Get a clue, WE the white people have NOTHING, and we are actually HELD back so other less talented, intelligent, etc., people that just happen to have a different ethnic background can go ahead, on OUR tax dollars, no less. So all you bitches whining about being "held back" and that the white devil is STILL oppressing you, STFU. YOU have ALL the opportunities now, we have NONE. NOBODY is going to foot the bill for MY college education because of the color of MY skin. NOBODY is going to give me a job or hand me a GODDAMN THING, in fact they would be happy as hell to kick me in the mud and spit on me as they walk by. I (and all the whites alive today) had NOTHING to do with what was done to your (also long dead) ancestors, that is over and done with and in the past. NOBODY should be held responsible for something they did not do, how would YOU like it if the roles were reversed? So you also need to STFU about people having schadenfreude over the Star Jones thing because she is a "successful black woman" when you would do the EXACT SAME THING, only to a WHITE WOMAN. You KNOW you would laugh and be just as hateful as you could, and that would DEFINITELY be because she was white, and YOU KNOW IT. So stop acting all holier-than-thou, it isn't very sincere. Star Jones is a bitch, plain and simple, and you know it. And THAT is the reason people hate her, NOT because of her being black. Oh, and FYI: YOU are the ones causing the majority of the racial problems and tensions in this country, and people like you crying "OMGZ, RACISM11!!1" all the damn time are WHY nobody believes or even cares about REAL racism when it happens! So stop crying wolf, not every black person deserves a free pass to act however they want without fear of reproval and censure simply because of the color of their skin. Most whites couldn't care less about the color of ANYONE'S skin, I know I certainly don't look at Star and think she's a greedy bitch because she's black, she's a greedy bitch because of poor manners and lack of class, which is an affliction people from ALL races can suffer from. So grow up and get a new excuse as to why your lives suck...maybe because you glorify people that think going to prison and running drugs is an accomplishment to be applauded, and that education and manners mean you are "acting white"? Now THAT seems to be a HUGE part of the problem, just a heads-up there, so stop bashing whites and work on the REAL issues affecting members of your race, and stop blaming everything on the "Big Bad White Man". Oh, but I guess I'M a NAZI RACIST because I'm GERMAN...right?

Star is a nice person, who spoke her mind, she is succesiful, married and happy. who most of us who are not happy and are jealous can't stand. she might not be in view, but believe me, she will be somewhere shining even brighter for all to see. before the view, she still had made a name for her self.it is not a color thing. she is a smart kid deal with it, by the way don't hate coz you can't have it.

"It amazes me that Payless has her as a spokes person. I mean, who's gonna take shoe style advice from someone who can't see her feet??"
LMAO!!! F#cking hilarious!!!

I have to say this is the first time I actually search the web for Star Jones and discover so many hating comments and well evidence of greed. What I find disturbing is the amount of people who jump on the color line. If you're an advocate of racial equality, why is it that you are the first person to bring race into this topic? All the disparating comments before has been because of her egolistic behavior.
I used to like Star Jones, not because of her weight or color or anything like that, but because of her no nonsense point of view. I wasn't aware of the the publicity that surrounded her so I wasn't as influenced as others. However, ever since her mariage, I noticed a shift in her opinions and attitude and that's what turned me off. It seems like she went from professional, tough women, to wimpering housewife whose sole purpose is to cater to her husband. While I sometime enjoy Joy and the blondie is well just there for blondness, the main attraction for me had been Meredith and Star, but with the changes in Star, the show had not been as enjoyable. Did I mentioned that her constant reference to her religion and how good it is seems like she's constantly preaching? This is a nation of diversity, tone it down a little.
Whatever way she used to lose her weight is her own business, but since it coincided with her marriage, I can't help but think that she's only doing that to please him. She didn't put in the effort to lose the weight before. While the weight lost does make her look better from afar, the close up is an unhealthy gaught look.
As for her wedding, I turn off the TV during the months full of weddings related topics. One or two episodes is enough, I didn't need to see weddings for months on end. As for getting free stuff, doesn't everyone do that? Although since it's not Her show, that's quite shameless.
BTW, love the pic, it's hilarious. Your ability to see the resemblance astound me :-P

Star Jones Reynolds - THIS DAY WILL PASS LADY. Barbara Walters needs to retire. Just wait until Rosie gets there. Ms. O'Donnell has never held her tongue. Rosie is a Star Jones - just bleached.

Someone said star needs to admit how she lost the wt. NO SHE DOES NOT HAVE TO ADMIT ANYTHING. She has a right to her personal medical business as anyone else. She could have but she did not and who cares any way!DID YALL SEE HOW MUCH SHE WEIGHED BEFORE 300LBS!!!! She needed to choose something I dont care how she lost it. Who knows how long she would have lived at that wt. Who cares what kind of wedding she had she is not the only celeb that got married and wont be the last! People lose wt and get married every day and she is only a talk show host who cares! She can lose wt how she chooses and have the wedding of her choice as anyone else abc gave her permission to make a segment of the show about her wedding so that is their promblem if no one really liked it! star was happy she had no issues with how she married. Leave the woman alone she is a strong black female deal with it! she is not a puppet for network tv or barara walters who knew about her replacement for 2 months and did not open her mouth she kicked star out and brought big=mouth rosie in without so much as a thankyou or best wishes or warning as she keeps talking about why should star warn any of those hens when they did nothing to let her know what time it was. Star needs to blast bw every chance she gets and I will not watch the show anymore cus i cant stand rosie joy or elizabeth and now bw too! Do your thang Star you dont need them anyway!!!!! and another thang you did leave with DIGNITY SISTAS! RULE!

I am deeply disappointed that the situation at the "View" has come to the point where Star Jones had to leave because of the appointment of Rosie O'Donnell as a new co-host. For years I have watched the "View", this was mostly due to the fact that a black person was a co-host on the show. I am saddened that it has reached the point where Walters and the producers have seen it in their interest to sideline Jones in such an undignifying way. Nevertheless, I am glad that Jones has handled the situation in a very professional and honourable fashion. I don't know how the new "View" is going to be a sucess with two competing comedians (Rosie and Joy);I find that to be counterproductive to say the least. I firmly believe that part of the show's sucess can be attributed to Jones' great personality and wittiness. I know for a fact that I will not be watching the view anymore after how Walters has dealt with Jones. As an aside I thing the show should be renamed the "Comedians View".

You negative people must be pretty miserable with your life. You people love to inject misery into a persons life because you can't stand to see people successful and happy.
Star is excited about her new life and it makes you sick? This is the problem with this country today. Too many miserable people given too much time to take out their misery on the happy people. This woman has put in the work and deserves all the happiness she is getting. As for her being materialistic, what's new in her industry. Donald Trump flaunts his money, and noone has anything to say about him. Stop worrying about how she paid for her wedding, how fat she is or isn't. Worry about how negative and jealos and sick your comments read.
If you were being honest you would say that she looks better, she seems happy with her new FINE husband and is a talented lawyer.

I do agree with the above comment that as long as Star was "fat and miserable" she was loved. As far as race, I do have to wonder if she had been white and had lost weight, had a complete makeover, and the wedding of her dreams -all expenses paid (practically) if we would even be having this discussion.
It does seem to me historically that white women can change themselves endlessly (MADONNA) receive free insanely expensive merchandise (PARIS HILTON) and be self-centered from time to time (check HOLLYWOOD A LIST), but never are they reviled and seldom, if ever, do they lose employment opportunities as a result.
Here's an interesting fact found in IN STYLE magazine: the gift pack given to Academy Awards announcers was valued at over $50,000 this past year. These people are millionaires; they don't need anyone to give them anything! But, that is the perk of being a star. Star Jones didn't steal her wedding!!! Companies gave her these gifts and services because they know a well publicized event can gain them business for years to come. They'll make back the money they invested in her wedding 100 fold. If anything, they used her, not the other way around. Believe me, they weren't giving out of the kindness of their hearts: there's no way they would have contributed to her wedding if there wasn't something in it for them.
Yes, I do believe it is because Star is black that she has become the object of such ridicule. Although highly educated, as long as she was fat and jolly, America did love her because she did not aspire to something more. In fact I feel that her co-stars were quite outdone by her transformation, particulary Joy, who on more than one occasion (I know, beacause I was watching) threatened to tell Star's weight when the subject at hand was not even weight.
I have experienced this same treatment in my own life on jobs. Though never overweight, and having modeled professionally, my beauty always caused me problems, though as long as I dressed "down", I had "fewer" problems out of the white women where I worked. At this one job where I was the director of a deparment, the Director of Operations was white, and everytime I wore an expensive (tasteful, designer) suit, new shoes, diamonds, even when I bought a new car (better than hers)- all hell broke loose!!! Literally!!! She would then find fault in what was quite exceptional work. And this was only when I dressed like I owned the place. And I would put her to that test. I would go in like what the cat drug in one day and she would smile, greet me warmly and tell me what an asset I was to the team. When I dressed, (and let me tell you, when I dressed, I could have been on a magazine cover) I was called into a meeting, or reprimanded. Even though the owner (white man) said that my department had never been run better in the thirty years since he opened the business.
Everytime I dressed. Everytime I tried to look better, be better, be more. Every single time.
And this has happened everywhere I have ever worked (with white women at the helm).
This is why I know it is "real" and not merely a race card being played. It is sad but true that most white women are uncomfortable when a black woman tries to look any way other than somebody's maid. Now, this may sound extreme, but it is true because I live it everyday.
So go ahead and say "I wish all these black people would shut up about how it's because they are black, because I don't feel that way about black people or about Star Jones." You may not, but I promise you, most white people, namely, white women, do.

I'm surprised by the hostility aimed at Star on this and other sites. I'm not fan of The View; it's just not my kind of show. However, I saw it several times in the early days and did not like any of the hosts, including Star. Joy Behar is a comedian and was never funny; Vieira turned me off when she said she doesn't wear underwear; and the new Hasslebeck is just a mindless, incompassionate conservative who has no original thoughts of her own; and Star struck me as more superficial than usual for a celebrity. I was particularly turned off by Star's talk about her hair pieces and her insistence that she was satisfied with her look (We knew that was lie!), but wanted to lose weight for health reasons. She might have been inspirational by admitting (like Oprah and others) that she was unhappy with her weight. I disagree with Rosie O'Donnell and posters who say Star should tell the world how she lost the weight (it's her business and her prerogative), but I do agree that anyone who had to resort to gastric bypass should not give weight loss and dieting tips. I was unaware of the whole wedding saga; and after reading accounts of it, it does make Star seem greedy and tacky. But lighten up! That someone would viciously attack another when she's down says more about the attacker that the person being attacked.
For those of you who are "sick and tired" of the race issue, try living as a black or Jewish or Hispanic or Middle Eastern or gay, etc. person in a bigoted society. We're tired, too. Tired of bigots who assume we all (or most) are not well educated (unless we're Asian). Tired of those who assume they know our tastes in clothing, music, or anything else because of the color of our skins or our religion, etc. Tired of doing twice the amount of work for half the reward. If you are truly tired of racial or ethnic issues, do something about it. When your friends stereotype someone of another race, religion, or sexual orientation, speak out against it.

For the comments made by "Strong White Woman" I think the problem is that you're ignorant of the knowledge of the African American race and if you studied it you may understand it better and see why the so called excuse you say we use, we see on a regular basis. So maybe you should try to get schooled on that. In reference to the pronunciation issue you addressed no matter how difficult a name or word looks to be it would be easier to break it up in syllables, and then try. Remember, no one wants to stay down, but if there is no opporturnities to come up, then we're kept down.

Well this has been interesting. For the life of me I can't understand why everyone is so obsessed with celebs. They all fart and pick their noses like the rest of us. I think Star just got a little too full of herself and got carried away with being a "Star". She comes off as incincere. I just think we all should focus on other things. And by the way, she looks as if she could use a good burger and fry meal. I mean come on, she isn't even pretty anymore.

All of these negative comments on this post is a perfect example of why this world is in the sick, sad shape that it is in today. It is amazing that there are so many miserable, unhappy people that seem to get some kind of sick thrill from bashing someone that they don't know from Adam. It's probably a safe bet that if a blog was written about the ones that are making these negative comments, it wouldn't be a pretty picture......(Those without fault can cast the first stone).
Ms. Jones, you're a shining STAR!!!!

Why is it that everytime I turn around some one is yelling racist. Why don't people just get along no matter what color they are. I don't like Star because of here diva antics it's not because shes black, I could care less. I'm just tired of when somthing happens to a person and their black, people start saying it because were racist. PEOPLE GROW UP QUIT USING THAT AS AN EXCUSE!

Star doesn't look very good since losing the weight. She really looks very unhealthy, so I am wondering if that is due to gastric bypass surgery. Other people who've had that surgery don't look very healthy, in my opinion.
I wasn't ever Star's biggest fan, but I sure liked her and her opinions much more than I ever liked Meredith Viera. That woman is absolutely obsessed with sex......it's all she ever talks about. Not that there's anything wrong with sex, mind you, but she would weave it into every conversation. Give me a break!
Star seems pretentious and narcisstic.....but then what celebrity isn't? Aren't they all full of themselves? If they weren't, they'd be working in jobs that were altruistic (i.e. nurses, social workers, teachers, etc.).
It takes a certain kind of egomaniacal narcissism to believe that you are so fascinating that the rest of the world should worship at your feet.
Look.....all these people are just PEOPLE......warts and all. What I find amazing is that celebrities are worshipped as if they are gods and goddesses. Bringing them down off of their pedestals is much more healthy emotionally than worshipping them!!

Enough on the "African American " CRAP! I'm so friggin sick and tired of that TIRED , OLD , PATHETIC B S ! Get a new issue already !
You are the most ethnocentric , racist , low-life group of people who will never be anywhere but the bottom because you choose to stay there. No self respecting person can take a comment seriously when it is always preceeded by "strong black woman" ( if I say "strong White woman the shit hits the fan) , African - American ( who speaks Swahili , you don't know SHIT about being African and Kwanza doesn't count) , and Sista' ( not all white woman are MY sisters so how is it every black woman is YOUR sister ??
You assume all white people hate black people , not true . We just hate ALL PEOPLE , WHITE , BLACK , PINK , PURPLE and POLKA DOTTED that act like you !
And as for Star Jones ...buh-bye bitch !

Thanks for your comments everyone...even those of you are name calling. Hopefully you'll get your anger out here in the comment section of gallery of the absurd and walk away feeling better...especially you Becky. If anger management classes don't help, people are always welcome to vent here. I hope to make people laugh, but if I anger you....sorry.
My intent is not to attack Star Jones personally, rather, I seek to paint the character she has become through the lens of gossip. There is considerable gossip claiming Star likes to get things free...and well, that's where the inspiration comes from. I don't know Star personally and cannot validate if any of the gossip about her is true, but my current artistic mission is to paint GOSSIP and gossip isn't pretty.
Now, if Star would like to pay me to paint a portrait of her, I would love to paint her as Star Jones instead of Star Jones' gossip. I'd even make her look gorgeous.

Well,
If you were in her shoes, tell me you wouldn't do the same thing. I would get all the free things I could get.
I think it is pathetic that when Star was overweight and unhappy, everyone loved her, Oh Star was all the rage because she was just another miserable black "fat" person. When she started to blossom and shine like the star she is, now you can't stand her.
How many other stars get free stuff things like clothes and jewlery in exchange for publicity. Why should she be any diffrent.
The real point is the way ABC handeled the situation. When Meridith left they gave her a nice send off, when Star left they had nothing to say but lies and betrayl BS. She was the only reason African Americans wathched that silly show.
The View is losing all of it's Class Acts. It's going down another path (Rosie??) and will be apealing to a whole diffrent crowd, which will not include myself.
You only live once, seize it while you can.
Sincerely,
NonYa

Tonya! I think it is a wonderful thing to be able to voice ones opinions on anyone, or any subjuct however; anyone who resorts to name calling and offensive language to others who express their opinion only appears ignorant and uneducated themselves. I'm not saying, calling someone fat or ugly isn't bad also but of all the comments I just read yours truly offened me the most.

Regardless of what type of person you may think Star Jones is and what you may assume about her husband, her position on the view should have been handled much better, and thats what should be being discussed. Always remember that no matter where you are in life and no matter what gender, color, or level of success you may have, it could happen to you. So, pay close attention to what you comment on and how it may affect you in the future.

Women certainly don’t have to worry about men pitting us against each other or assisting in keeping us second class citizens in comparison to them because we women do it all to each other. The reason Hillary Rodham Clinton or any other intelligent, confident, and powerful woman will never become President of the US is not because men won’t vote for her, but because women never stick together. Women can be the most vicious and jealous creatures on the earth and many of the comments on this site prove this. It is so sad that so many of you have made hateful and disturbing comments about Star Jones Reynolds and don’t realize it only reflects what terrible a person you really are and not that Star is the terrible person.

Star Jones planned her wedding around the time I was planning mine and I was totally disgusted with her. We had to cut corners and have a wedding that we really weren't happy with and yet someone like her can have a fairytale wedding and not pay a dime merely because she makes a shameless plug on a tv show. Not to mention the time she reserved the entire studio audience for guests of her wedding without telling the studio. People were outside waiting in the rain to get in and up pulls a bus/vehicle and all her friends troop past those people and march right in without batting an eyelash. It has NOTHING to do with her skin color or gender. Anyone who is that selfish and self-centered should expect to get flamed.
And for those calling her beautiful....you don't deserve to be called "beautiful" if you're too lazy to diet, exersize and get off your fatt butt and instead fork out a couple of thousands of dollars to get gastric bypass. I doubt she got that one for free because she won't admit she had it done. When she called into the show to let everyone know she was "alright" after she had her boob lift....give me a break. After giving birth to my son I had over 75 stitches down below and I took ONE pain killer ONCE when I was in the hospital and the rest of the time I took ibuprofen. I never complained or called people to say "hey I'm alright...I have a level 3 tear down there and can't pee but hey, I'm still alive!". Who cares how high your boobs are...as you get older they're going to look like two socks with tennis balls in the toes anyways. I'm glad Rosie is going onto the view...at least she isn't "gimme that gimme this" and we all know we won't have to endure months of shameless plugs for free wedding stuff.
Star Jones is the most artificial person I've seen....other than Britney Spears...don't even GET me started on her.

I think people are to quick to join in on bashing parties. It is to easy to agree with and believe only the negative about people:Instead of everyone concentrating on all the negatives about star jones they should pay more attention to the fact that she is a part of growing percentage of African American women to get educated and get motivated enough to get the fat off. If she never does a damn thing again it's more than most of us will accomplish in a life time.

I have read these postings and have laughed my ass off (lmao). You all are ferosious.
I knew when Star starded telling her business that she was going to get fired. I knew it...she had made comments about Jlo and Ben that they needed to keep their business out of the public eye...she trashed Jlo for it and low and behold she got turned out by a down low man and started to talk about it (and he is down low, that will be the next thing to come out). Not just talk but ranted and raved about it to the most horny bitches in town. Come on now...Meridith, Joy, that little ultra consevative freak behind closed doors little girl and last but not least Barbra who has probably slept with men across the glob in her day. Star should have known better but she made the mistake that so many black people make...they forget they are black. And of course now...she will need the support of the black community to stay strong.
Woman of color if you read this and only hear one thing hear this. NEVER FORGET YOU ARE BLACK AND CANNOT GET AWAY WITH THE SAME THINGS THAT WHITE WOMAN CAN. AND NEVER TELL WHITE PEOPLE IN PUBLIC AND PLEAS BE DISCRIMINATING IN PRIVATE ABOUT YOUR PERSONAL BUSINESS.
Don't you trust them because they don't like you or understand you. They are immorals and are born that way. They will stab you in the back before you know it AND NEVER EVEN REALIZE THAT THEY ARE DOING IT...OH NO, NOT ME I have nothing against you, you should just say things in a kinder gentler way. You are too outspoken. And even if you know in advance what they are up to (because several of them will pull you aside and warn you...but don't say they told you...)there will be nothing you can do to stop it. The minute you complane or go to the source you will be labeled a non-team-player and expelled from the click.
SO BE FOREWARNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I find it interesting that Star wants to suddenly focus on being a black woman when just a few years ago on the View she invited and played host to a male African tribe leader who was personally responsible for the genital mutillation of hundreds of black female Africans.
She had no concern whatsoever for her African sisters, but suddenly now she's trying to start a race war in this Country over something that she did to herself.
No one caused her ratings to plummet but herself, no one was so self absorbed but herself, no one declared a Black-White civil war via the View but herself.
She is a cheap low life who resorts to race only when it makes her position look good, or at least she thinks. Maybe she has some vendor or sponsor who will give her some money for stirring up a race war?
Posted by: LaQuitha | June 28, 2006 at 08:59 PM
No, Sophia, it's amazing how black people whip out the race card whenever a black celebrity is criticized. You think the 'white' world is putting down your 'people'.
Star Jones does not 'love herself a little more than the rest of us', she is narcissistic. She most likely got gastric bypass surgery and then gives interviews where she passes out diet tips to the world as if that's how she achieved her weight loss, that makes her a hypocrit as well.
You want to worship a strong black woman? Then try Maya Angelou... Condi Rice... Aretha Franklin... Oprah Winfrey... Toni Morrison... Coretta Scott King... among others.
Respect someone who deserves your respect, someone who has EARNED your respect. And the next time you think someone is making it all about race, look in the mirror because it's probably you.

Star is a FABULOUS WOMAN regardless of her colour. I think she is awesome; although she needs to admit to how she lost all of her weight!
Posted by: the turtle | June 28, 2006 at 05:46 PM
It is amazing how people turn on a black person every chance they get in this country. Yeah, sure Star loves herself a little more than the rest of us but she was the only one on The View that dared to offer a logical perspective on any serious issues. Barbar Walters, I will never again watch anything that you appear in or produce. You act as if you care about a multi-cultural world but all you care about are the people who back up your own narrow, conservative, "I wont's piss off the white people" co-hosts. Star should be heralded for what she did to promote a diverse VIEW of America. I think that any person of color should boycott the show. There is no diversity there so the View will be nothing more than a pigeon hole with a fake tea party being hosted by the white girls who behave as they are instructed. Rosie, face up to your own crap before you throw stones! You never fessed up to being gay until you closed your own show. Stop being hypocritcal trash.
Go Star go.
