Donald Trump's Sign of the Apocalypse

Trumphair

While in Las Vegas last month, I snapped this photo of the Trump International Hotel and Tower sign. After downloading to my computer, I was shocked and amazed that Donald Trump pulled a Virgin Mary and mysteriously appeared inside his own sign! Take a look inside the U and you'll see not one, but two miraculous images of Trump's profile and hair.

The Virgin Mary isn't picky about where her apparitions appear. A grilled cheese sandwich, a tortilla, a Chicago underpass, or even the belly of a turtle are all perfectly acceptable materials. Trump, on the other hand, refuses to appear anywhere else but inside the giant gleaming lights of his own name.

Here are some other photos from my trip:

Satanclown

I thought the function of a billboard was to lure in business, but this one seems to designed to cause cold-blooded fear and apprehension.

I'm fascinated by reflected shapes.

Clothing of class and distinction can be found in various trinket huts lining the Las Vegas Strip.

Stuff I Saw Yesterday

Floradestroyer1

My lovely city of San Francisco is home to a wild flock of parrots who delight in nibbling the blossoms off flowering trees each Spring. Every day around 4:30pm, a flock of approximately 400 parrots descend onto a lush green park located near the waterfront and begin stuffing their beaks with flowers.

Fluerbeak

This little guy took this blossom right out of my hand. If you give them apples (and you aren't supposed to, but I sneak them in) they'll fly over and sit on your shoulders and atop your head.

Lotsabirds

These noisy birds have nearly stripped this tree of its blossoms. There's a nice Flickr set of much better Wild Parrots of San Francisco photos here and there's even been a documentary film made about them.

Feathers_copy_2

I was able to get some close up shots of them too.

Stuff I Saw Today

Treeface_3

I saw it far off the path and dutifully trudged over ant hills, tender seedlings and "no trespassing" signs in order to snap a shot of it. Location: San Francisco Botanical Garden 03-22-08

I spent the entire day today walking all over San Francisco taking photos of early winter. Heading up the steep streets toward The Presidio, the damp mist intensified the wafting scent of eucalyptus and juniper. Tender fresh green added vivid color to the diffused shades of grey enveloping the city. As you can tell, I'm taking a small break from celebrity gossip, but I'll be back soon. More of today's photos can be viewed here.
