A Portrait of Amy Winehouse
I took a quick break from the project I'm working on and whipped up a painting of Amy Winehouse. There's some filthy gossip going around that Amy's husband "Blaaaaake" might be filing for divorce. While the rumor may or may not be true, my gut tells me it's just a matter of time. By sawing off her beehive and dying her locks blonde, Amy is exhibiting Level I warning signs of a looming Celebrity Meltdown. As demonstrated by Britney, the wearing of the same accessory (dirty pink ballet slippers have been replaced with a yellow scarf) every day is another indication that this train's next stop is Crazy Town. The next step, of course, is the head shaving - once that occurs, we'll all be assualted with non-stop "entertainment news" coverage on The Associated Press, FOX News and CNN. Get ready for the coming onslaught. Medium: acrylic and ink on board.

I am disturbed hearing Amy's antics belittled to being like that bald-headed banshee. Love her and yes, get a divorce, a new haircut, just get better :-(

I love the snake wrapped around her head. I only wish it would strangle her now. Great post as always!

Great portrait! I can't believe she dyed her hair. It looks like utter shit. Not that the emaciated body and blood-speckled footwear was helping.
I hope she dumps Blaaaaaaaake's sorry cracked-up ass. This girl has got more talent then I've seen in years-years-years, and it's been going to waste because of a difficult drug habit encouraged by this evil parasite.
I want to see Amy on top of her game again. If she needs to cut emotional ties by changing her look drastically, fine. Do it. But hopefully one day she'll bring back the beehive!

Well, Amy Winehouse came out of the bat-shit crazy closet and walked directly into the spotlight. We all knew she had issues. I'm neither surprised nor impressed that a meltdown is imminent for her. Love the snake detail on this piece, too.

I've never seen her look better! You are too kind. Really. I mean that. Couldn't you be a bit less kind? Is that mean? Oh well, not everyone loves cruelty to those who deserve it like I do! hmmm... I think I've said too much! ha ha

Maybe some anatomy and shading/lightinhg lessons can help? Oh and btw, proportions are wrong, but hey, that's why average artists paint like this, it allows them to hide that they lack skills in some areas.

It's like you carved it out of butter... I want to stare at it for hours and watch it melt a tiny bit, sort of like she aging before my eyes. you're loads of awesome, 14.

J. Donner, how about some spelling lessons for you? And perhaps a few tips in etiquette? But I guess that's why average ignorant assholes leave comments like that on people's sites. It allows them to hide the fact that they're unhappy with themselves and need to spread some negativity around.

J. Donner,
Why don't you send some images of your artwork to me so I can learn from the Master? You are correct, I badly need "shading/lightinhg" lessons and I think you're just the teacher I've been tirelessly searching for. The master has come! I rejoice!! REJOICE!!!
I no longer want to just sit down and create expressive paintings just for the sake of having fun. I no longer want to allow an image to present itself out of chaos. I no longer want to walk around deluded about human anatomy...in fact, it was a real shocker to me that humans DO NOT have snakes sprouting from their heads or bizarre extraneous lines sprouting from their clavicles and acromioclavicular joints. Let me tell you, this was a real surprise.
Looking forward to my art lessons, Oh Great One.
xoxo
