Stuff I Saw Today
I spent the entire day today walking all over San Francisco taking photos of early winter. Heading up the steep streets toward The Presidio, the damp mist intensified the wafting scent of eucalyptus and juniper. Tender fresh green added vivid color to the diffused shades of grey enveloping the city. As you can tell, I'm taking a small break from celebrity gossip, but I'll be back soon. More of today's photos can be viewed here.

Beautiful, 14. Your creative instincts inform everything you do and I love it all. I am one of many in that regard! Enjoy your break and Happy New Year to you and everybody.

gawd, don't go all serious and arty on me.sure, the piccies are good, but they lack your customary snarkiness....

Haw! No worries, I'm not going all "serious and arty" - just taking a little break from gossip so I can recharge my snark batteries. Paris and Brit Brit wear me out occasionally, but I'll be back on the frontlines soon.

Thank you!! I just got the camera and can't stop taking pics. It's a Panasonic DCM-TZ3 Lumix with 10x zoom and an automatic stabilizer.
Here's a review on it, and BONUS, they call it a "pocket rocket".

These make me want to cry, stuck up here in horrible Calgary for another 9 and a half years, where it's been winter for months and will be for months more, and green is just a memory by December.

I just booked my second SF trip, because I loved it so much the first time. I cannot WAIT to get out there. But I'll be witness to the summer beauty.

Another word. Or maybe two. The half-light made her smile—that luminous glowing thing—look slightly crooked but no less enchanting like a path through a verdant forest or jungle that suddenly jabs into the foliage at some skewed angle so that you can’t see whether lush beauty or dark brutality lay ‘round the corner. I came back to the scarlet like a song that won’t leave my head. And I won’t let it leave my head.
The riddles intoned breathily extract poetry from spoiled Californians who somehow managed to get inside my skull in the same way that those hippies did. God help me, I can’t grab hold of the wicked and kick it out. Maybe I should not. Something is dying, Operation Sweet Death, I’ll go anywhere even if the lyrical touch is less than subtle because sometimes even fake flowers look beguiling in the right light. You’ll feel time most profoundly when someone looks at the inside and outside with equal fortitude. Think or wish I am together now, more alive than the average stuffed and mounted animal, somewhat slightly. Maybe it’s a padded hammer striking the dulcimer strings; maybe the fact that we’re both breathing right this instance and in the same dimension. I can flatter myself.
