The Satyr Takes an Afternoon Stroll
I recently emerged from a mid-blog crisis and had to flee my studio for a week. Too much exposure to celebrity gossip can destroy your brain and blight your soul, so I had to take a little break to heal myself. I hope my readers understand. My regularly scheduled gossip-inspired posts will return tomorrow. Meanwhile, please enjoy the surrealistic nonsense of the following posts. Medium: Acrylic on board.

I love your pure art posts ... I look more forward to them than your truly hilarious gossip posts.

Oooh, dirty dirty! Those look like organic condoms dangling from the tree. Another great piece. The satyr's about to get his chug on. Love it!

These are excellent, 14. I look forward to seeing more of your non-gossip art more frequently.

Oooh, I like it very much! Reminds me of some wonderful illustrations I saw in a Mother Goose book. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.
You're amazing!

Absolutely beautiful! He's way more interesting than Tom Cruise could ever be.

LOL, I like my satyrs with a smaller dick and some pipes. His face looks like that recreated image of King Tut.

Sigh.. A slender flute should be tucked behind his ear.. Lovely painting.
Posted by: dmumsie | November 06, 2007 at 09:52 AM
The flute is in his pants....and it's not slender.
Posted by: 14 | November 06, 2007 at 10:08 AM
slender is overrated!

This is so beautiful. While I always get a kick out of your celebrity posts, the art posts, where you let your creativity & ability shine, are always a welcome treat.

You are a pagan, 14! You've got Satanic goat dick and mermaid beave on the brain! You must be a redhead.
Too bad we won't have your fabulous drawings in heaven.

Pathways merit exploration says Freud; this is not some sort of psychoanalytical bulletin, it is the dark inscrutability of someone's gaze and the same route up the hill that my mind traverses every May when it is beautiful and the spring air holds all of the promise of the universe’s great secrets in the palm of its right hand, in its left hand it holds feathers after having swatted away avian creatures that no longer represent God or his drinking buddies.
Here I am, feeling like a fucking non-human: Non-mammal even. But at least I’m part of nature again in the grass inhaling and remembering that earth clings to your nostrils and mind, drawing all into focus.
