« If Andy Warhol Had Painted Linds, Brit and Paris | Main | Paris Hilton: Please Make Her Go Away »

It is a little disconcerting that people have such strong and negative emotions about this whole thing.

I so look forward to Fridays so I can see your new post. You never fail to bring a smile to my face. And today is no exception.

See a satirical tongue-in-cheek graphic titled “The Big-Attitudes” which updates the Biblical Beatitudes to fit the Paris Hilton fiasco…here:

www.thoughttheater.com

While commenting on the current situation of Miss Hilton with my husband, and the fact that if it was me or any other normal person with actual mental instabilities who were sent to jail, there's no way in hell they would send any of these people back out on 'house arrest' for it. He accurately replied: "Paris Hilton doesn't have the mental depth to develop mental instabilities".

I know people who are throwing a Paris Back in Jail Party tonight.

I actually dislike all the attention celebrities get these days, but seeing what a SPOILED IMMATURE brat this girl has been really disgusts me. Not only that, but seeing how her worthless parents try to buy their daughter's way out instead of chastising her makes me retch.

Rot in jail Paris, b/c regardless of how unfairly you think you are being mistreated, you (will) still have it better than most pple in jail or otherwise.

I don't think it's worth even that much thought. It reminds of when bullies and "mean girls" in school got their comeupence and everyone was ecstatically happy about it. Paris Hilton is the classic example of a "mean girl" and I, for one, think she deserves any badmouthing she gets.

It's an important issue because it involves the social inequalities of the justice system in America. Every good American citizen should be involved in matters such as these where equality is being put to the test. If you live somewhere, you should at least be aware of how corrupt or (not) corrupt your society is.

Do I think justice was served in this situation? No, I don't. Most "normal" DUI-ers that drive with a suspended liscense only serve 10% of their required sentence. 10% of 40 is 4..Besides, A LOT of average people get out of things, like speeding tickets. And we've all heard those atrocious stores about the child rapists who are released from prison after only serving 2 years!!! It's such a waste of prison space...

I hate hearing people say this is not REAL news. The hell it isn't! This isn't just about a 26-year old acting like a 2-year-old - it speaks to race and class in this country, and that makes it news. The fact that Paris Hilton gets publicly humiliated in the process is just a well-deserved bonus for all of us.

I had no sad feelings about her going to jail. But once she was let out that ought to have been it. I'm just in shock (call me naive) that this is such top news! I also can't believe people have such heated feelings about Paris in jail. WTF? Would that some of this passion be diverted towards worthier topics. (Not you 14.)

Well, that was unpleasant.

Damn bitch! It's just jail not prison and she gets her own cell.

How bad can it be??
(I don't want to find out first hand but still)

CNN has their finger on the pulse of this pop-culture world.

It seems more like a hand around the throat,
but we are all free to change the channel...

I like the subtleness of this piece, 14.

Dear Paris:

Suck it up, do yer time, and grow the fuck up, bitch. Christ on a Triscuit.

Love, Me

And I'm with you, dear Quatorze. I'm not gonna let her waste my time no more, neither. Except, I do have her blubbering ass set on my desktop. It's just too karmically delicious.

When you do the crime, you do the time. Suck it up, Princess!

Sack up, ho!

NCAA - PH has no class at all.

I laughed my arse off at the weeping in the back of a cruiser photo. I guess that blowjob she laid on the sheriff didn't work out for her all that well, did it?

Its really sad for me to see shit like this on the news in this day in age. Being in the military (or not for that matter) its upsetting to know that people as well as news channels consider THIS to be the most important issue occuring right now. Furthermore, its sickens me to see someone in her position, a celebrity who has the potential to use her influences in a positive way, bawling like a child over a weak sentence when Ive seen people go to jail for less. GROW UP! ACT YOUR DAMN AGE! FACE THE CONSEQUENCES TO YOUR ACTIONS, LEARN FROM IT AND MOVE ON!

Personally, this is all ridiculous. The media coverage, her bawling over the verdict, the way people build it all up is disgusting. Being a person in the military, it makes me sick to my stomach to see her and all the rest of the world freaking out over a damn 45 day jail sentence and broadcasting it all over the news as if this is IMPORTANT! There are SO MANY more momentous things going on in this world today and this is what you see plastered all over the television. And as far as Paris goes, Im sorry, Ive seen people go to jail for less and stay a lot longer in worse conditions so she should quit whining like a damn child, grow up, and live with the consequences of her actions.

I think she deserves this and worse. And this is important because people are sick and tired of celebrity justice.

Wow, one of my comments is there - I feel so famous! lol

I wanna know what the "unspecified medical problem" is!!!
My theory? Crabs! From outer space! That live on Paris' tears!

14! I was just emailing you to say... *I KNOW* you are pulling an all nighter with the picture of “the face” as inspiration! I log on at 11:13PM PST and there it is. May this bliss never end. I'm sure it will inspire a masterpiece.

Paris who?

I'm glad the world is safe from Paris Hilton and that there is no special treatment for celebs in LA. That will make me feel much better when Phil Spector walks.

14, I love you! It's absurd that news has become the equivalent of "The National Enquirer" and "The Star." As a matter of fact one of The Star's "reporters" was a "consultant" on MSNBC. Tabloid journalism at it's best. I see no point in shows like "Access Hollywood" or "Entertainment Tonight," because the other news outlets beat them to the punch.

As always, very well done!

I was looking forward to getting online to see what the lovely 14 had posted, and as usual, you didn't let us down. :)

I'm with you on the business of this garbage being news. With a younger brother in Iraq dealing with B.S I don't support, I have to see this Skank Ho on every channel? She's not suffering, and if she had any moral fiber, she would just shut her mouth and do the time. Didn't she say she was, "taking this time to reflect?"

My, how quickly she forgets. Big baby.

I don't live in USA and it surpises me the amount of time given [also] in local TV regarding this [really irrelevant] issue. It's really sad in fact. We put the spoiled bitch on a pedestal just to enjoy watching her fall... It speaks a lot about our nature nowadays. At least justice is really being served, I was scared she would get away with the medical problem stuff.

The fact that Paris Hilton's misdeeds are covered by mainstream news outlets is shamefully lowbrow and is a sad commentary on our collective intelligence level. If I want to see Paris, Lindsay or Britney I'll watch Entertainment Tonight - I don't want to see that kind of coverage in The New York Times or on the evening news. I am embarrassed that I know just about every detail about this case, even though I haven't gone out of my way to seek it out. Maybe if the news covered actual news instead of this type of trash she wouldn't be in a position to believe she was above the law.

I confirm.. American society is garbage. GARBAGE!!! ALL OF YOU.

The niagara of sadistic commentary the american public has to unleash upon this non-entity is truly terrifying.

Reminds of me of that "2 minutes hate" thing from that book by George Orwell.

I've given up on getting any actual news from CNN until this Hilton-mess blows over. I've been keeping up on real-world events via BBC America.

I found it funny how this 'medical condition' was never mentioned during the first trial. Man, that thing just snuck up out of no where.

Oh go suck a shit encrusted shit dolygo, you know you love it just like anyone else. Your at this site with the rest of us scum, aren't you?

This is way harsh. I love Paris.

People still get their news from TV? Wow.

CNN is utterly useless, and has been for years. Anyone with the ability to post on this wonderful website has the ability to find better news sources than cable television...

Just sayin'...

i have a friend who works for cnn. NONE of 'em like covering paris, but they do it 'cos producers say people will want to watch. the thing is they always realize that nobody wanted to watch it just as much as they didn't want to cover it.

Since Paris got her money from hotels, let's send her down to Louisiana and force her to work for Habitat for Humanity! OK, it's a cop out because I wouldn't have to "live in the house that Paris built", but it would be an opportunity for her to learn about such complex and abstract concepts such as "work" and "humanity". The media would be allowed to cover Paris only if they sponser her by pledging money to Habitat for Humanity, much like a March of Dimes walk-a-thon. The network that raises/pledges the most money gets to do one uninterrupted hour of "Paris news". My hope is that her "appeal" could not bear up under such close and prolonged scrutiny. Afterall, just how interesting is a spoiled, shallow rich white girl with no discernable redeeming social values??

The nasty comments make the strongest statement and it's not about Paris.
